The Montreal Gazette reports that a sit-in at McGill University is poised to continue, as students unhappy with the administration remain camped out on the 6th floor of the James Administration building. The students began their occupation on Tuesday, “occupying” the 6th floor and the lobby. The students are asking the University to recognize the results of referendum questions on the funding of two student groups.
The University has chosen not to remove the students forcibly. Instead, troublingly, it has refused to allow the occupiers of the 6th floor access to food. After the University refused access to food and washrooms, students who spent the night in the lobby left at 11am on Wednesday.
