Public confidence in the RCMP drops

Roughly 7 out of 10 Canadians said they felt the RCMP is an organization with honesty and integrity in 2009 as compared to 9 out of 10 in 2006 according to surveys conducted by the RCMP.  There was a similar drop in the public’s view of the RCMP’s professionalism.  The drop is largely attributed to the Tasering death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski caught on tape in 2007.  Read more.
